Emmanual
Love for family - that’s what has kept Emmanual in the life insurance business for nearly four decades.
He remembers the day he got his appointment letter as a Development Officer in Life Insurance Corporation of India in 1986. He had been married for a year and his first child was only eleven days old.
“I remember looking at my wife and baby girl and thinking that I must protect them with all that I’ve got!” he says. “And when I was being trained at L.I.C, I realised that this was it. Insurance was how I could protect my family financially now and in the future.”
Four years later his son came along, and he was even more determined to fulfill his responsibilities towards his family.
As he became familiar with the different insurance policies, he realised that there was much more to it than security for dependants. “It was about Wealth Management, building cash value and so much more.”
“If you believe your product or service can fulfill a true need, it's your moral obligation to sell it.”
- Zig Ziglar.
Emmanual believed. And he spent the next 38 years fulfilling that obligation. Through these years he has seen many reap the benefits of investing in life insurance.
He has also seen heartbreaking experiences of those who put off buying insurance thinking that they had time.
“I remember being at the funeral of a young friend who was in his 30s when he died,” recollects Emmanual. “His young wife was beside herself with grief. His little boy was distraught. If the sudden loss wasn’t crushing enough, they were left with no income and no savings. My friend loved his family more than life itself and worked so hard to provide for them, but he thought, as do we all, that he had time - insurance could wait. Unfortunately, time runs out when we least expect it. That incident cemented my conviction that I must help others avoid being in such a situation.”
“Spending time with your family, teaching them sound values, being there for them emotionally, guiding them spiritually, providing for them financially – all these are things that I have cherished. And knowing that they will not be left destitute if anything happens to me has given me immense peace of mind. I want this for others too.”
“Insurance has many more benefits. It is one of the most underutilized financial tools,” says Emmanual. He likes to quote the words of renowned insurance salesman and author Ben Feldman:
“Every man has problems that only life insurance can solve. In the young man's case, the problem is to create cash; for the older man, to conserve it.”
So he creates solutions – tailor-made for each of his clients. “Insurance isn’t a one-size-fits-all product. Each life is unique and so it’s crucial to match the right insurance product for each person,” he says. This is where his expertise has been a boon to so many. He firmly believes in the proverb:
“The plans of the diligent one surely make for advantage, but everyone that is hasty surely heads for want.”
And this is why he continues helping people plan out a course that can help them care for their present and future.
And in his journey, he has helped nearly 15,000 policyholders manage their savings and helped nearly 300 agents find a rewarding source of income. He can help you too!
